I have always had a thing about doing things for myself. I have this curiosity about how things are done, and how they work. So, when I saw the Home Brew Kit, I just had to try it. And, of course, I like beer or I would not bother with it at all. I am one of those people who actually read the instructions that come with the products, so, after reading the instructions I took everything out of the box, making sure that everything was there. With the Home Brew system, you get 2 x 20 pint beer kits, a fermentation bucket, a packet of fast acting home brew yeast, a beer paddle, sterilizer, 2 dispenser bottles, beer tap and base plate, siphon tubing, and gas bulbs. The Home Brew Kit system has a really clear and easy to follow set of instructions, and states that in less than 10 steps, I would be sampling my own home made brew. The first phase takes seven days; the second phase takes fourteen days. And that is exactly how it worked out. I made my own Lager in a few days time. I can hardly believe that I made beer that good at home. This Home Brew Kit is really a hit with me. I couldn’t drink all of that beer by myself, of course, and that is not the idea. Beer is always better when shared with friends. So after trying it out on a couple of friends who liked it, and could not believe that I had made it from a Home Brew Kit. I decided to have a party and share the beer with all of my friends. So I set a date for a warm Saturday night and set up my little bar out by the pool, gathered all the patio furniture around and lit the hibachi for atmosphere, I didn’t cook, I just served pretzels and nuts to go with the beer. We all had our swimsuits on, and really enjoyed kicking back and sipping on the beer. We took time out for an occasional dip in the pool, but mostly we had good conversation and good beer from my Home Brew Kit. I have actually started another batch of lager, so in a few weeks we can do this all again. Then the next time I will make the bitter beer or stout. It would be great to have all three on tap, and then everybody at the party will have a choice. I would like to have that choice also, on a hot day when I come in from jogging or mowing the lawn, it would be great to reach in the cooler and pick out a really cold and tasty beer. This beer tastes better to me, knowing that I made it myself with my own Home Brew Kit. Sometimes it really pays off when you do things for yourself.
