The Best Beer Comes From My Home Brew Kit

Beer always seems to taste better when I am drinking it with my friends.

I will occasionally drink a cold beer after mowing the lawn or when I have been doing something physical, and then I can totally appreciate the cold goodness of a frosty cold beer. But the best beer that I have ever tasted is the beer that I made in my Home Brew Kit. I have always liked beer to a certain extent, but I have always been very particular about the type and quality of beer that I drink.

With my Home Brew Kit, I can make lager, bitter, or stout beer. My favorite is lager, so that is usually what I make, but I have some friends that like the bitter beer or the stout, so I make all three kinds to have on hand for whatever anybody wants. I bought the Home Brew Kit some months ago and have enjoyed using it. It is an easy, convenient and inexpensive way to have good beer readily available.

One important ingredient and probably the most important ingredient in brewing your own beer is yeast. Before you add the yeast, boil a certain amount of water, the amount depends on your particular Home Brew Kit. While the water is boiling, add unhopped dry malt extract, and then you can add a yeast nutrient. Boil this mix for fifteen to twenty minutes. Let the mixture cool and pour it into the fermenter to begin the process of making beer. Your Home Brew Kit will include the fermenting container and the airlock stopper that allows carbon dioxide to escape from the primary fermenter during the fermentation process; if the carbon dioxide cannot escape, the solution can explode. The airlock should be mostly filled with water, The primary fermenter has as a plastic hose that allows the beer to drain into the bottling bucket which has a spigot at the bottom that allows easy filling of the bottles.

The bottle should be a dark color of  glass for the best results. If you do use glass bottles you will need a bottle capper. When you have bottled the beer, it will need to sit in a dark area and age for at least one to two weeks. The longer it ages the better it will taste.  When it has aged, chill the beer completely. I know this process by heart now, having made it several times, and now it seems as simple as making a pot of coffee.

My friends all like coming to my house for parties because they know what good things are in store for them. They really enjoy drinking my homemade beer.

Of course, home brewed beer does not always have to be consumed at home. Sometimes we pack up the cooler and head to the park to play volleyball, or just have a picnic. If you like taking the beer to the beach, it is best to use plastic bottles when you are bottling it.
